HOW TO TUNE A 13 INCH TOM STEP BY STEP
In this step by step lesson I teach you how tune a 13" Tom 4 different ways with a single ply batter, and a single ply reso. Each tuning is at a different tension range (Low, Medium/Low, Medium/High, and High) giving you a broad range of tones to use with your 13” tom. I also discuss how the tunings of my 16" Floor Tom changed with the tunings of my 13" tom in order to maintain the same interval between the 2 drums, and maintain a consistent style of tone between the 2 drums. This lesson video video includes pitches, tune-bot, and drum dial settings for both toms at all tunings. Go from ground to sound, step by step so you learn EXACTLY how to get these tunings every time you tune up your 13" tom. Stream today to help support my channel, and give a boost your tuning game.
Set Up & Tune A 6.5" x 14" Snare ft. The SJC Jay Weinberg Model Using 2 Different Batter Heads.
This video is a step by step drum tuning lesson on "How To Set Up & Tune A 6.5" x 14" Snare Drum feat. The SJC DRUMS Jay Weinberg Model Using 2 Different Batter Heads. Those batter heads are the stock Evans G2 Coated, and an Evans HD Dry, which is one of my fave snare heads for beefy snare sounds. This snare belongs to one of my drum tuning lesson (and now drum lesson) students. He wanted it setup, and tuned with the HD Dry, so I embraced the moment, and did a step by step lesson on tuning this drum from ground to sound with both heads. Learn step by step how to get low, medium, and high tunings for this drum (or pretty much any 6.5" x 14" snare drum) with overhead tuning graphs, pitches, Tune Bot, and Drum Dial settings included. Learn to get the snare sound you want EVERY TIME YOU TUNE.
3 TOM TUNING PROFILES FOR A 1 UP, 2 DOWN KIT feat. THE KENNY ARONOFF SPECIAL
This full step by step lesson teaches you how to tune a single tom, 2 floor tom setup to 3 different tuning profiles including two of the tuning profiles I used while drum teching for Kenny Aronoff. Learn step by step how to get these tuning intervals. The lesson includes demos, and discussions on both of the "Aronoff" interval sets, as well as another great tuning profile I've used as a touring drum tech for artists such as Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, & Dead & Co. . In addition, I discuss some of the challenges when trying to find a great set of intervals for a 1 up, 2 down setup. Like " my 16" floor tom won't go much lower than my 14" floor", or "my 12" or 13" tom doesn't sound good tuned high". No matter what you are looking to get out of the video, one thing you will get is a great lesson on my drum tuning methods that will apply to all your drums.
HOW TO TUNE SMALL TOMS TO SOUND LIKE BIG TOMS AT 2 DIFFERENT TUNING INTERVALS V2 WIX
Here is a great overview video discussing how to tune small toms to sound like big toms while still retaining attack for large rooms. Good for all toms, but especially helpful for those who own Mapex Drums. During this video you will learn step by step how to tune your toms to two different tuning intervals ( The Perfect 4th, and the Major 3rd) that help you get deeper tones out of smaller toms while still retaining attack. You will also hear a bit of discussion about the drums in terms of the series, and in terms of drummer Eric Boots Green. Mapex drums asked me to do an online tuning clinic at Lessonsquad.com discussing how I would put together a Mapex Saturn Evolution Kit for Mapex artist Eric "Boots" Green. He’s also one of the drummers for whom I tech. The clinic may have passed, but the tuning lessons still retain their value as this video is full of lessons that have succeeded in real life application for some of the biggest artists on the planet.
